Came here during a city - wide power outage and stumbled onto the best meal of my life . The Gumbo - Bowl is the most comforting and savory meal you'll ever try and the Crispy Brussel Sprout Bites with the magic aioli seriously changed my life . Great drinks too that were super affordable compared to other places around and way better!!

We went here for happy hour (4-6), and we're not disappointed. I tried their hurricane beverage (10$) and an old fashioned (10$) and several appetizers also on the hp menu. The gumbo was very good (I got spoiled my first time having gumbo was my old friend from Louisiana... never had it that good since). My husband had the crawfish and roasted Brussels sprouts that melted in your mouth. Service was good, place was pretty empty, I never knew this place existed but will definitely be returning.

Very, very pleasantly surprised by this place! My family and I went to Lake Tahoe during Christmas-time and we were very late in planning food options. Toulouse was one of the very few options that took reservations for our party of 8 and open on Christmas Day. We weren't expecting much and kept telling my family to not have any expectations. I feel bad for having low expectations because the service and food were great! This is a creole inspired place so there's a kick of Cajun/creole spice or seasoning in all the dishes which we appreciated. I got the shrimp and grits with the added sausage. Flavors were on point and the extra sausage was worth it! Very well cooked. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the grits were a great texture. The overall creole sauce tied everything in together. Our whole table really enjoyed the wings! Probably one of the fav dishes of the night. We also got the poutine and I was feeeeeeling this poutine! Poutine is usually a heavy gravy over fries so we were hesitant to order it but here it had a nice spicy gravy and some nice pieces of crawfish thrown in there. Would order both those apps again and craving them now thinking about them lol. Lots of folks in my party ordered the burger which all of them enjoyed. It personally was too meaty for me so it depends how you like your burgers. Someone in our party ordered the blackened chicken sandwich and raved about it saying it was better than the burger. A few reviews here talked about waiting a long time for food so I was prepared that it would be super slow service given it being Christmas. Our server also told us it was her first time working dinner and was just helping bc it was Christmas. All of this made me a bit more worried but honestly service was really great. Our server was attentive, checked in often, and was very pleasant. Our food also came out in a reasonable amount of time. Thanks to Toulouse we ended up having a very enjoyable Christmas dinner and got the kids down for bedtime on time. We considered going back for breakfast because we enjoyed the restaurant but ultimately ended up staying in for breakfasts. If in Lake Tahoe and looking for a place to eat that is different than the regular American joints, I would recommend Toulouse!

This place is probably my best discovery during our last visit in South Lake Tahoe. We went on a sunny day for brunch. It was beautiful outdoor patio setting. And ton of space, our dog babies could really stretch out and relax there. It's a modern rustic feel which I like a lot. It's located right by the Stateline beach, and 5 minutes walk to Gondola. The food was beautiful everything came with very pretty presentations. And they were all delicious! The service was very attentive. They also have their own lodge with a nice pool and fire pit. will definitely go back, and might even consider staying there next time.

Toulouse is a nice restaurant with a lot of outside seating and more elegant dining inside. But, it's a very casual place. The decor was simple, modern, and southern flair. House music was 70's Pop music, like Cat Steven's, America, CSN, etc. I think our server was one of the owners. He was very friendly, polite, and attentive. The ladies working the bar were friendly too! The service was great. Our friends ordered the... Toulouse Burger: Grilled 8 oz American Wagyu Beef, Cheddar, Red Onion, Lettuce, Tomato, Roasted Garlic Aioli, Toasted Brioche Bun (4/5). The friends who ordered this really thought the burger was excellent - done well. They would get it again (Sorry, no pic). Blackened Catfish Po-Boy: Lettuce, Tomato, Spicy Remoulade, Toasted Baguette (4/5). They got it with seasoned fries. My wife and friend split this dish. They both enjoyed it, and I was able to taste my wife's part of the sandwich and fries (see pic). Shrimp & Grits: Hot Cheesy Grits, Shrimp, Mushrooms, Tasso Ham, Tomato Oil (4/5). The shrimp were blackened and cooked perfectly. They had a nice kick to them. The cheesy grits were smooth and creamy. It does have a kick, so beware if you can't eat spicy. Pistachio Cheesecake (4.5/5). The presentation was great. It came with some strawberry slices, raspberries, blueberries whipped cream, and a fruit drizzle. This was so good. It's not too sweet but very flavorful. You could taste the pistachio flavor and creaminess of the cheesecake. Get this!
